“Keep the music down”, she said “His ears are delicate from the op”
But I don’t care.
I don’t want to stop
The vinyl in mid flight
Or turn down the volume
As though it were in the middle of the night.
Let your ears bleed
You cock sucking cunt
But that is my need
A cry,
A plea,
An inner scream
Of a child who learned to be silent
And made to feel guilty
For another mans’ greed.
My older years watch him
From the corner of my eye
I shout a few times
And feel joy when he flinches
From my loud rhymes
Chatting away because
I don’t give a fuck
And I hope that soon he
will run out of luck.
I tweak the volume a little,
She frowns,
Passes a glance at the man with bleeding ears
I switch it up another notch
“Turn it down,” she says “You must protect his ears.”
Fuck his ears.
Did you protect me,
From him,
In my younger years?
I want his ears to bleed
Like he made me bleed
Like he made me suffer
In silence,
In shame,
And play his dirty, and evil game.
I don’t know how many times I imagined him dead,
I threw him off a train several times
Crushing his head
Into the railway tracks
Of wooden sleepers and lines.
But here we are
At the kitchen table
His look, superior, and smug
Drinking tea from a chipped mug.
I want this fucker out of our home
Lost in the woods
Deaf,
With nowhere to roam.
Oh, dear God, let his ears bleed
Hitting the volume
BOOM!
An explosion of sound
Thumping bass and LOUD.
Screaming ensues
China smashes to the linoleum floor
On his knees
Crawling for the door.
She yells, and pulls the plug.
Cutting the air with a knife
She always wanted to be his wife
All I wanted was to live a safe life.
Let him bleed
Like he left me
Like he abused,
accused and shamed me,
Let her go,
She never ever wanted to know.
I see his eyes, all wet with age and tears
His crumpled face,
Wretched
And filled with fears.
I held up a mirror
To the damage he’s done
Not sure if he cares
Because all he wants to do now is RUN.
But he’s out of time—and I’m not done.
