Something Has to Give

You may have noticed that I don’t publish on a fixed schedule—and I probably never will.
Sometimes there are several posts close together. Other times, things go quiet. That doesn’t mean I’ve disappeared, or that this publication has been abandoned.
It means:
I’m writing.
Or composing.
Or editing photographs.
Or getting another book across the finish line.
All of those things demand my time and focus, and I’ve reached a point where the books, the music, the photography—all of it—has to come first.
For too long I’ve been trying to keep up with the constant demands of being online while still writing, composing, and creating, and something has to give.
I’d love to tell you exactly when the next story, poem, or essay will arrive, but I can’t. I’d rather be honest than make promises I can’t keep.
So if this publication is quiet for a while, please don’t mistake quiet for absence.
It simply means I’m deep in the work.
I’m still writing.
I’m still creating.
This publication is part of that journey, and it isn’t going anywhere.
Thank you for staying.
Your support means more than you probably realise.

Thank you for reading another post from Shadows And Midnight Screams where we delve into the world of shadows, desire, and untamed expression. My illustrated collection of poetry ‘Twenty Past Midnight’ is now available as a paperback and you can find out more about that here.
And until next time…

I operate the same. To like minds: Cheers
I appreciate the honesty of this update. In a culture that often rewards constant visibility, it's refreshing to hear someone openly choose the work itself over the pressure to always be present. Readers may miss the regular posts, but they benefit far more from work that has been given the time it truly needs. I hope your books, music, and photography continue to lead you where they need to go. We'll still be here when the next piece is ready.
